invoking God doesn’t help your case
September 9, 2012vote for President Obama, maybe
September 8, 2012This post was inspided by a political conversation on the Facebook page of my friend Joe Few. If I could offer a direct link I would and encourage you to go read the conversation. It’s a far more sane and graceful discussion than I see most days on Facebook.
and now for my opinion:
1) Do I feel better-off than 4 years ago? No, but I didn’t expect to. Wars, fraud and living beyond our means for many years will take a very long time to correct if ever. Honestly I have my doubts because most of the people I see around me continue to live beyond their means.
Come on folks, this question is offensive and simple-minded.
In many ways I do of course feel better-off; less war, some fraud corrected, less fear of my government (VP Cheney frightened me), some hard work and some good fortune.
2) Money vs Social Grace; don’t ask me to pick ONE; not an option. Does anyone really think we can ask the poor to wait while we argue about the banks, government and ecconomy? Of course not. Of course I hate to see charitable resouces wasted or misused, but I still give and try to lend a hand.
3) If you want me to consider your opinion then show some respect; say President Obama (not Mr). If I need to explain this then please don’t leave a comment or follow me on Facebook or Twitter.
4) If your opinion can’t stand on it’s on Grace & Sanity then invoking God doesn’t help your case (Just Sayin).
5) If you think I’m stupid for my opinions … well … YOU’RE STUPID! :-) Seriously all of my political positions are negotiable and adjustable. I love getting smarter so please feel free to offer me constuctive opinions and sources.
fyi: I am a loving lucky father and spouse and man of strong faith; neither of these are negotiable. I also am a proud voting citizen, work for a giant global corporation (sometimes evil, mostly not) and have been self employed many times.
At this time I plan to vote for President Obama again; still negotiable.
